all shook up... that "M6.5" at the top means magnitude 6.5, a big one! all shook up to the south of us anyway, -- westhaven is very stable, thankgoodness! i was standing at the kitchen sink, just held on for the ride. it was fun, 'cos nothing was shaken from shelves. wouldn't be fun if stuff started breaking. outside, it was perfectly still, no breeze at all, but the redwoods were swaying... eureka times standard   los angeles times & making it look like a hiccup... the 7.0 in haiti on 12 january, a catastrophe for many days, there was no word from my sister-in-law lucienne's family there, & then for weeks, her daughter nadia & goddaughter daphne were missing. BUT amazingly, everybody eventually showed up! nobody in her immediate family died, a miracle, considering what happened & how many people did die. drove down to SF to see my UCSF oncologist dr.chan for 6-month checkup. it was a beautiful day for a drive, but i was having a hard time getting the CNN images of haiti out of my head...

stayed only a couple nites with diane in sausalito, fell in love with her new kittens (still without names), but couldn't stay the weekend as i had hoped...

because back home on saturday afternoon was michele's memorial she had loved hawaii so much, so brian asked everyone to come in "island attire"

  then, back to work 'cos school started up again... 

& rehersals for the 3rd annual redwood curtain fundraiser live radio show...

& then the nite before performance, after rehersal i drove down to the beach to let boomer run. driving home up the hill, the caravan started making loud new scary sounds, the death knell. parked it front of the house & didn't try driving it again.

for months the transmission has been threatening to fail, engine sounds terrible, body leaks & mushrooms are growing in the carpet. time to retire...

the radio show was great fun, the house was packed, we did good!

brian so kindly lent me michele's truck until i could find another vehicle. started the search...
