what a flurry these last couple days! claudia called me yesterday to tell me she'd read an article in monday's paper about a new oncologist in eureka, & since i wasn't really happy with the one i was going to be working with, i went to see him today. much better. we had a long talk, he agrees the taxol/carboplatin protocol is appropriate & feels very positive about my coming out of this cancer free. he doesn't have much experience with complementary therapies, but at least he's interested in what my herbalist has prescribed. & he initiated a hug when we were finished! that's more like it. SO i cancelled the appointments at the other place, & will be beginning chemotherapy with dr.fellows on thursday 26 march.

eVc retreat was a real blessing, a boost for the spirit before descending into the darkplace.

i woke up from a nap to see this happening outside the window...

am a little worried about a slite sore throat, don't want to get sick, can't start chemo if i'm sick.

25 march

well heck, ALMOST time to begin! i came down with a nasty spring cold & have had to postpone beginning chemo. we've tentatively rescheduled for next monday, but of course won't begin unless i'm completely thru with this cold. can't begin until totally well & strong. am now going back to bed with hot herbal tea & TiVo.

1 april

my oncologist had me come in for a blood draw, because there's a brandnew test that indicates definitely whether there are any cancer cells in the body, & i passed -- totally cancer free!

just kidding.

2 april

back to the real world. i'm still waiting for the cold to be done with me, turned out to be a VERY nasty one. don't think i'll even be ready for the current maybedate of NEXT monday, 6 april. still producing quarts of snot from behind my face, coughing up more from deep in my lungs, & today my neck glands are sore again. i heard someone call this cold a "3-weeker". great.
