appointment
with dr. chan on 22 october
went
down to santa rosa to the UCSF faculty practice clinic to meet
with dr john chan, my gynecologic oncologist. turned out not
to be a pre-op consultation after all, because he wants more
tests. the results of the sonogram & the MRI didn't agree
on the size of the fallopian tube mass, so he wants me to get
a CT scan. and he took a scraping from inside my uterus (ouch!)
for a biopsy, & was not happy about the look of the tissue,
called it "necrotic". oboy, he thinks there's cancer
there too.
SO
another appointment on 7 november, this time in san francisco,
& with results of CT scan & biopsy, we'll be talking
about what he thinks is going on in there, what will most likely
happen during surgery, what sort of after surgery treatment he'll
recommend, etc.
surgery
will not be until maybe 3 weeks after that meeting. more waiting.
but i appreciate him wanting to know as much as he can before
he cuts me open! & in the meantime, it's a beautiful autumn... |
